You have to click on the picture to see it larger to appreciate the colors.

Here are a few more pretty ladies in their pretty ball gowns.
Thes are pictures taken from Sis's cell phone. The bottom two pictures were emailed to blogger while we were fishing but for some reason I couldn't get the last 3 to send so I came home and uploaded them. Thats about a 3 ft. carp she has on the end of that pole but we never got to see it before it broke the line.

Rats! It got away!

If only it would quit raining! The flowers are blooming beautifully now but the rain is making them all fall over. I think this lavender one above is my favorite. Of course the picture does not do it justice. It is a really rich lavender color. I wish you could see it. Does any one have any that I don't have? I would be willing to trade. I haven't gotten all the pictures posted yet, I am waiting for a nice sunny day to get some good pictures.

They are coming on pretty fast now. That last rain didn't help them any, it wants to knock them over. I am amazed how much better the digital cameras take pictures of flowers. I had pictures of these that I took with the film camera and I had to delete all of them because the colors were so bad. The digital takes them so true to life.
Sis found a cat today. It came up to her while she was fishing at the pond. It is a long haired, orange and white tom. It must have been on its own for quit some time because its fur was so matted and it was covered in ticks. She brought it in and put it in a cage until I had time to work on it. Tonight I got my sissors out and a pair of tweezers and got to work. Both sides of its body was so matted that I had to take the sissors and get under the mat and cut it away and it peeled off like a blanket. I know it must have hurt to have the hair pulled so tight. It was so tight to the body that I did snip the skin a couple times where I could hardly get the sissors in between. Now it has both sides shaved to the skin and has a mohawk about two inches wide all the way down his back. We just stuck him back outside by the food bowl when we were done. I don't know if we will ever see him again but I know he is going away feeling better then he came.

So I lied, sorry about that. Looks like the blogs that we write here do show up on
The Meetin Place page. It just took it a couple days to get there. Go there to see all the latest blogs. It just took me a while to figure that out because some of you guys don't blog often enough I guess. Get with it girls!

They came home some happy campers from this hunt! 139 mushrooms! We be eatin good tonight!
Here is the next batch to show their colors. I can only find maybe one or two plants that may not bloom. This is going to be a pretty good year for iris.

It looks like the new blog spot
The Meetin Place isn't going to do what I thought it would. I thought that when each one of you guys would blog on Blogger that it would show up there but it isn't showing there. So, plan B, If everybody wants to move over there and blog on that page instead of on Blogger then you can also read all the blogs there. You can upload photos and everything just like here. It may be to big a change and to much bother but it is there if you want to.

I found a place, signed up and called it The Meetin Place. What I like about it is that you can read all the blogs on one page. It could be so much more, if we all participate but that is up to you. If you would like to participate, just go to the page and sign up. Then you can write messages, read all the blogs and whatever else is available. Just explore it, click on stuff and see if it is something you want to do.

I just had to document this, something I never dreamed I would hear from my teenage daughter. Something society always said would never happen. She just told me, "You're like my best friend, you understand me." Wow, na-na-na-na-na! Take that, society!

I probably show these tulips every year but they are always so pretty after a cold, bleak winter.

I woke up one morning at Bea's and noticed this in the front yard. They were just wandering thru.

Still selling wooden benches regularly. I have one to put a picture on. Need to get started on that.

Sold these two last week. $40 ea

I guess Sis gets bragging rights, She found 3 mushrooms last night. Her daddy was really proud of her.
Well, tell us where you were and what was going through your mind during the earth quake. I was asleep on Bea's couch and was rudely awaken by the shaking and rattleing. The house was shaking and the pictures on the walls were swaying. I knew what was happening but it was going on so long I was wondering if I needed to find a doorway to stand in. I was scary and I don't look forward to going through that again any time soon. Terry call me at 8am and said that Sis slept through it but he didn't. He thought it was a nuclear bomb or something. He said the dogs were all barking too. Then this morning at 11:15 was the aftershock at 4.5 and Sis felt that one and called me all excited. Well we had our excitment for a while.

Sorry, no mushrooms. Oh well, either I'm not very good at this or they're not up yet but we all know the answer to that question. I'm not very good, is it. Well, I'll just quit and enjoy my walked in. listen

It's 10 o'clock on the morning in this beautiful sun shiny day and I'm out for a walk. I've got about 7 dogs trailing me and we're just enjoying the morning. I'm gonna look for some mushrooms on the way back. I think it kinda interferes with the rhythm of the walk to have to look for mushrooms but it would be nice if I could find one before Terry does. I would get bragging rights there and wouldn't I? Well, wish me luck. Bye bye. listen

Click here to see Sis's new blog. She canceled the last on and made a new one, on my google account so that she don't have to sign me out of Google and sign herself in every time. This way I can stay signed in. It is just that it looks like it is my blog, posted by me but it is hers and she wants to try writing more but I don't know if it will happen.

Well, what's going on...

Well, what's going on at our house today, is Terry is cutting some trees out here on our land, you might be able to hear him in the background, he couldn't get anybody else to get him some trees, so he come over to our house, he said they could probably find 15 or 20 trees and take them to the sell them so the man is in his element today, that's right where he belongs. listen

This is Wednesday morning...

This is Wednesday morning and I finally got a day off, so I've been out here digging in my Irises. Trying to get all the grass, I did that Sunday afternoon too and ended up with a backache so bad I could hardly sit. but I've recovered from that and now I'm back at it again. 'Coz it's a big job, trying to get all the grass out of my Irises, so they will bloom this year. They didn't bloom at all last year and I was so disappointed, but that was because of the frost. It froze and it killed the bloom, so hopefully this year we won't have that problem and they're gonna be so beautiful. So, I've gotten almost all the way down one side of the driveway. And then I'll gotta go down the other side. And I'll show you a picture when I get them all done. I decided to blog this way because I can't seem to ever get the time to sit down and turn the computer on. listen

This is old news, from the last high water but here are some photos Mom took. It may happen again, I heard we are in for another 2-4 inches in the next few days.

Okay, finally a keyboard beneath my fingers! I can type and you can read it this time. We drove all night last night and got to Rachel's house at 6 am. I knew I would not get any sleep there so we decided to just drive on home. Sis kept me awake and poked me when I drifted. She was so tired that she was giggly all the way back from Rachels. We stopped at Wal Mart in Corydon to wake up and she wanted to check out the swim suits. Couldn't find anything we both agreed on so I called Lois and ask if we could come there and crash for a little while before we head home. I slept for about 2 hours but Sis is still sleeping.

It's 4 o'clock in the...

Well, we sorted out about noon and headed South. Things were fine, we stopped for party breaks. Stopped and bought some chicken to go with our homemade potato salads and just traveled south all day long. We looked to cross the road and there was an accident and trucks were backed up average to 5 to 6 miles and I was surprised, I said I am glad that's not me, but guess what couple of 100 miles down the road and a few hours later we are stuck in traffic. We have been going about miles 10 miles an hour for an hour here now and no ending sight. It took three lanes of traffic and bottled them up in one lane and nobody is happy. It's probably 11 o' clock now and we are looking for a motel. So we will talk to you tomorrow. listen

This was Timmy's birthday cake from Sis. A giant chocolate chip cookie! Happy 8th birthday Tim.

Puppies are all gone. One lady took the last two. She took one and called back and wanted the last one. I was really happy about that. I didn't want to have to keep her for a while and I am glad she got to go with her sister. Now, little Becka is supposed to be pregnant and due the end of this month but....... she should be showing by now and I cannot tell that she has gotten any fatter so it may not have happened. Well, it did happen, I saw it but maybe he was too young. Is 7 months old enough? or maybe it's her fault. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Who says you can't wash dishes and talk on the phone at the same time?
Well, we are down to 3 puppies left in the pen and two of them are sold so I guess we havn't done so bad. What is weird is that I can put an ad in the paper to run over the weekend and get few to no calls during the weekend but the following week I get all the calls and sell all the pups.

This is our last little girl left. She hasn't been chosen because she has shorter hair then the rest. The fluffy ones always go first. We may have to keep her for a couple more weeks but I am confident that she will find her forever home soon.

Yesterday Terry's help was sick and didn't work so I had to fill in at the sawmill. I had forgotten how much work that could be! We only sawed 8 logs into ties but that was plenty enough for me! I didn't come away un wounded, I jammed my finger when I fell between two ties and it is swollen and sore today. I did something to my knee, it is sore and it didn't help that I was wounded from sledding in the snow with Sis the day before. That time I pulled a muscle in my side when we went down a big hill and I fell off the sled and skidded down the hill on my shoulder. I told her I was too old for that kind of stuff but that didn't help. I thought I was going to have to help saw ties again today but was saved by the ice storm. We had to give it up and go home about noon because of the ice. That was just fine with me! That's not a job I want back any time soon.

Just an update on the small fry. I did sell him but he only went about 3 miles away. A lady saw him when he was still in his little candle box, just peeking over the top. She absolutely fell in love with him and convinced her husband to get him for her for Valentines day. I didn't really want to sell him, only because I wanted to see how he will turn out and how big he will get but I really DON'T need anymore dogs around here and he seemed to be doing great. Eating good, pooping good and really too feisty and actually a little mean so I let him go. He is close enough that I can keep an eye on him and will try to keep you up to date on how he is doing.

I had a nice weekend off but it is over now and back to the nursing home in the morning for another 72 hours. Bea is her usual self, very noisy in the evenings and hard to get to sleep. She has a roommate now and that make it harder on us to try and keep her quiet. I say try, because it really never works. We are sleeping in the recliner at night, do-able but not comfy. This Friday she has an appointmet at New Albany for a scope of her bladder. Will know more after that.
