You don't mess with a black panther!

We took a mini vacation (seemed like a vacation to us) to Clarksville to check out the big Bass Pro shop there. It is huge! We easily spent all day there. Ate lunch there, I had blackened salmon on a bed of linguini, Terry had fish and fries and Sis had popcorn shrimp and we had a thinner wallet when we were done but it was good and we had enough left over to bring home for supper. The brakes went out on the van on the way home and we found an oil leak but we made it there and back all in one piece. It was fun especially for someone that hasn't been more then 20 miles away from home in at least 6 months! When we got back we spent a couple hours cleaning up the yard then decided to go fishing at the lake. It was a beautiful day in more ways then one.

Sarah brought him to me yesterday. He seems to have a broken wing. We cut a hole in a sock for his head and one good wing, enclosing the broken wing to immobolize it. Hope it works. Crows are BIG! I didnt' realize how big until I saw one up close.

They like to nibble on your fingers, Ouch!

Worried about my girl, she is feeling puny again. Sore throat, achy, and just puny. She missed church this morning.

Still bottle (dropper) feeding puppy formula every 3-4 hours but they ate just starting to nibble on apples or nuts. I take them to Bea's with me, Sis was going to try to raise them but she got scared that she wasn't doing it right and sent them back to me. These are Terry's babies, he so wanted some more squirrels to play with so he is tickled pink now.

They are still alive, seem to be thriving. The poop looks good and that is the most important part. I had to paint ones ears with white-out (thats all I could find) so I can tell them apart. So I don't just keep feeding the same one over and over.

Terry has been working in the woods this week cutting trees with a couple other guys. Today they cut a tree and found 2 baby squirrles. Well guess who gets the job of baby raising? They look to be about 3-4 weeks old and one is just barely getting it's eyes open. The have eaten 2 good meals so we might just pull this off.

Okay folks, it's time, time to join the crowd and get on Facebook. It seems that everybody is meeting there. I signed Granny up, Rachel's there as well as all her kids. If Mickey is in the pen and anybody sits down at the computer he comenses to set up a ruckus you wouldn't believe because this is where he wants to be. It takes him a while to get situated, balanced and settled but here is where he is happiest.

This cat thinks he is a dog. He loves to cuddle with the dogs. They don't really enjoy it but they put up with it. I guess it is because the dogs have heat and cats do love heat. Whenever the cat comes in this is where he goes.

Just a few of the orders that have been keeping me busy on my second job. I have 4 more that I am working on right now.

Ouch! I know how he feels. I got a booboo too. I was at Dad's house and the yard is covered with ice. I was going back to the truck and my feet went out from under me and the back of my head bounced off the ice. I think I looked just like that poor bear. Scared me and every one else but no symptoms, no headache, no dizzyness, sleepyness, nosebleed or crossed eyes. Thank you Lord! The back of my head is a bit tender but that will pass.

The wood box is full, the outside animals are in and the dogs all have their coats on. The thermometer is dropping but we are warm and dry, well, at least if you are in the living room by the stove you are warm.  It is 65°  in the kitchen but that is not bad for a 150 year old house in 0° weather with a wind chill of less then that. 

I didn't have a coat small enough for little Minnie Mouse so she is wearing a sock with holes cut in the appropriate places.

 The Farm

I  found this place called TiltShiftMaker where you can upload a photo and they will send it back altered. What is TiltShiftMaker you ask? Tilt-shift miniature style photos are pictures of real-life scenes that are manipulated to look like model photographs. The buildings are supposed to look like miniatures sitting on a model. I guess if you use your imagination just a little you can see it.  It was a fun little project to do on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Yes, I actually have a whole day at home for the first time in at least a year. Sis has been sick with a bad cold all week and her dad got up this morning with the stomach flu so we didn't go to church. They went back to bed and I had a little quiet time with my computer. I did get the kitchen floor swept and mopped and I want to vacume the bedroom floor if I can ever get off my tail here and get busy. I gathered up all the Christmas decorations from the kitchen but they are just piled up on the corner of the table. I'll get around to putting them away one of these days. We have the tree and all the 'stuff' still up in the living room. Will get to that too, some day.   Thank you Terry! He has kept the dishes washed this week so I don't have to come home to 4 days of dirty dishes and stand for hours in front of the sink. Isn't he a sweetie!

Minnie Mouse says Hello, I weighed her this morning, she is up to 1lb. 12 oz. and is almost 5 months old. 

I wish I had a copy of the picture I took of her in the dryer when she was about 18 months old. It was a better fit then.

A lady was telling her son that she saw a man driving down the interstate, and a dog was hanging onto the tail gate for dear life.  She said if he hadn't been going so fast in the other direction she would have tried to stop him. A few weeks later, her son saw this truck at the Bass Pro Shop in Daphne, Alabama !  It's a taxidermist! Talk about an eyecatcher!
