I met him in March, this was Easter. We married in June, 15 years ago on the 30th. 15 years changes things but I have loved every minute of it.
By the way, that was the first and only Easter corsage I ever got, My how things are different when you are dating!

Jess took this picture of Sis a while back. I thought it was a good picture.

This blogging business must be a wintertime, cold weather pass time. It just seems there isn't anything to write about during the summer. That is odd because summer time is the busiest time for everybody so there ought to be a lot to tell. Not in my case anyway, can't think of a thing to write so you will have to be satisfied with a "Howdy" now and then.

The day was coming to an end, the work was hard but it had to be done. It had been a hot and steamy day, causing tempers to fray. She stands gazing into the refrigerater looking for some leftovers to reheat for supper. The only thing to be seen is some beef and noodles that are about a week old and were unsavory to begin with and a small bowl of chicken salad, not enough for 3 hungry mouths. She hears the shower running and hopes the water will cool his mood and also give her time to cook something since the leftover idea didn't pan out. On to the cupboard to sort through the various boxes and bags of 'easy' food and settles on spaghetti. Easy and quick, it is one of her favorites. This won't be so bad after all. She grabs the box and to her horror, realizes too late that someone had opened the end of the box of spaghetti then set it back in the cupboard, open end in! What a mess! Just what I need! The scream of frusteration brings him to the kitchen, still wet from the shower but does he offer to help? I think not, not even a word of sympathy. With a roll of his eyes he disappears into the other end of the house. The safer end, to be sure. Well..... good thing the floor was swept just a couple hours earlier. There is nothing to do but sit on the floor, get comfortable and start picking up, one by one by one. She takes her time, after all sitting down is just what she wanted to do anyway instead of cooking supper so he may just have to wait a little longer for that 'bite to eat' he was counting on. The problem with the sitting part was that spaghetti tends to scatter when it is dropped from a considerable height and an arms reach from one spot leaves a lot of spaghetti around the edges. Digging it out from under the cabinets cannot be done from a sitting position either. By this time the tempers had cooled but the water was boiling and the hamburger was thawed so back to the stove. Oops, forgot to put the garlic bread under the broiler! She raises the rack so it will get done quicker but too late realizes that the time it takes to drain the spaghetti just might be a little too long under the broiler at that height. Oh well, it does scrape off, most of it at least. Sit, relax, and enjoy the meal. Don't think about the frying pan full of spaghetti sauce that needs to be put away, the few strings of spaghetti drying on the sides of the kettle and the black crumbs in the sink. He will take care of that while she puts her feet up and watches a little TV. Oh wait, no, that was a dream she had the other night. The TV is on and there are some feet proped up on the coffee table but her feet are not a size 12 with yellow toenails so who could that be? It is her turn to roll her eyes while she wipes the table and loads the dishwasher. He wants WHAT tonight??? Well, that will be in his dreams too. I'll teach you to roll your eyes and leave the room, I will, I will! He does smell good though, after that shower.............

Nine down and two to go!
Sold two more tonight. Just have the two little boys left but they are real sweethearts. I am glad that they have thinned out some but will miss them when they are no longer here.

I was invited to breakfast at Mom's this morning. I was a set for some of those great omlets but as we pull up we could see that someone had mowed the front field and there was a stressed out mommie dear in the area and a bunch of vultures in the field. That told the story right there but Sis and Jess just had to walk out and look. They found 2 babies, one dead and one alive but with 3 injured legs. They brought it back to the house. Sarah wanted me to take it to the vet so we took off. We knew it was not salvageable but wanted a humane ending to the story. The ladies at the vet said they could not legally treat a wild animal and tried to call around to see what to do next. They sent me to the Animal Control in Corydon. At least it didn't lay there and starve to death like the Game Warden said to do. The neighbors watched the girls carry the fawn to the house and called the police on us. The Game Warden came out to Mom's. We were already gone by then and they could not charge us with possession of wild life. He said, and I find this hard to believe, that you are not allowed to even touch a wild animal. If you see it injured you have to leave it to die or you are breaking the law. Mom was furious! Mostly mad at the neighbors for doing such a thing! Does that mean you will get arrested for moving a turtle out of the road? Preposterous! Wow, that was a big word.
