This is while he was missing his two front teeth.
What are little boys made of?

Notice the head, shoulders and on the piano bench.

Just some pictures of little Becka. We took her in for shots and worming and she weighs 3 1/2 lbs at 4 months old.

Aunt Marge said she wanted to see some more pictures so I browsed my computer and found some that might be interesting. These are from the 70's and 80's.

We had a lovely Christmas Day dinner at Mom's house!

Mom was worried about it being too crowded and we did bump elbows somewhat but we all get along well with our neighbors so it was not that bad.

This is Great Grandpa with his great grandson.

They look like they are enjoying the day.

Almost looks like they tried to dress to match the kitchen.

She is still our favorite Mommy!

Aaawwwwwww........

Monday, December 18, 2006

Well, I have managed to simplify my life a little, I gave all the birds to LeAnne, my neice, and tonight I found someone to adopt Boogie, the little chihuahua that was peeing all over my house when he didn't have his diaper on. By tomorrow night I will be down to 3 pups left and that sure cuts down on the clean up time and effort. Hopefully those last 3 pups will be gone by the weekend.

Does any one besides me feel like the Christmas season is rushing by and there is no time to enjoy it? Terry ask me yesterday, " Is this what Christmas is supposed to be like?" We rushed home after church to stuff all the puppies in a cage and rush to the shop to meet a buyer. They took their time deciding but that was okay because they finally decided to take 2 instead of one. When they left we had to rush to Jasper to open presents with Terry's family. We rushed to WalMart to get dog food and some stuff for Terry's lunches this week and barely made it back in time to pick up the leftover pups at the shop, rush home to deposit the pups in the pen and rush out the door for church. It was our night to go caroling at the housing then back to church for a snack. We ate and left early to stop a Dad's so I could read my email. I was having trouble connecting at my house and this is a bad time for that when I have puppies advertised and customers wanting to email me. By the time we got home it felt like we had been gone for a week.

We got up at 8 this morning and I had to be to work at 9 so I just had a minute to drink my coffee and eat my donut holes, feed and water the dogs, clean out the puppy pen and kiss my husband goodbye at the door. He follows me out the driveway and we head to our seperate ends of town. I kinda like my job here at Bea's, I can just sit and do nothing most of the day and it's great. This was not my job of choice when I started here but it has turned out to be a lifesaver and not as bad a job as I thought.

So how about this weather? Some December, huh?

I took puppy pictures today of the puppies that will be for sale next week and just had to get on of little Becka too. She will be 4 months old on Christmas day and weighs just 2 1/2 lbs. Some of the puppies that are just 8 weeks old outweigh her by a whole pound!

I am at Bea's right now, looking for something to watch on TV. She has about 85 channels and I can't find a thing to watch. Maybe it could be because it is 10 minutes till 1 in the morning, you think? I had 2 cups of coffee for supper and they were not decaffinated. I have had a caffeine buzz for about 6 hours now. It's a wild ride too. I usually drink decaffinated coffee, I am not used to this!

The coyotes were just outside my window having a wild party, I thought I heard something on the TV but I muted it and I still heard it so I went to the back door to listen. I must have made too much noise because they quit and all is quiet now.

We sure do miss Sis while she is in Florida with Lois. She said she misses too, a little bit anyway. Lois said they might go somewhere and do something fun if she could just get them out of the pool long enough.

Today I went to Dad's to help him install his new printer and digital camera. That took us about 3 hours but we got it done. I think he will enjoy that camera if he can just remember all the steps to taking pictures and putting them on the computer. When I left there I had to go home and clean up 24 to 28 hours of puppy poop. For some reason I can't seem to get Terry to do that while I am gone. Go figure. The puppies were out of their little pen and into the big dog's pen and had been for a long time so it was a mess in there. When I got it cleaned up and locked them up in their pen again you would have thought I had locked them in prison. I was VERY loud in there until they wore them selves out and fell asleep. Ask Sarah, she called me during the melee and couldn't here herself think.

Well, it is after 1 in the morning now and I may be able to fall asleep now if I try real hard so I guess I'll give it a try.

Note to self: NEVER DRINK 2 CUPS OF COFFEE BEFORE BEDTIME AGAIN!!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I thought you were supposed to sleep in on holidays but what do you do when your eyes pop open at the normal time and you can't go back to sleep? I guess you get up and start you day. We had chocolate chip cookies and coffee for breakfast then unloaded a truck l0ad of fire wood on to the porch. I took the dogs for a walk and Sis picked on her guitar she bought for 25.00. It is not even tuned but I heard her picking out Silent Night, Amazing Grace, Jingle Bells and a few more. I wonder what she will be able to do when she gets it tuned? Terry decided to go to the shop and get a new storm door (used) to put on our back door to replace the scruffy one with the torn screen. Me and Sis went to Wal Mart (thank God Wal Mart is open on Thanksgiving!) to pick up a few things. I need butter to make the mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie makings and dog food. We left there poorer then we went in and I even forgot to get the pie crust, cranberry sauce and stuffing. When we got home Terry was installing the new storm door so we started lunch. I had already baked the turkey the night before while at Bea's house since my big oven isn't working so I just had to heat it up. I started the potatoes boiling for mashed taters and Sis grated the cabbage for cole slaw. Wal Mart was out of the bagged slaw so we had to do it the hard way. We had a can of apple pie filling but since we forgot the pie crust I suggested we make apple crumble instead of pie. Go the easy way I said but Sis would have none of it, she wanted apple pie. I found her a recipe for pie crust and she did it herself. So we had apple pie after all. The crust was a little thick and didn't go all the way to the edges but who cares? Not me, she can bake me an apple pie any day! I mashed the taters, cooked the green beans and thickened the gravy and we had Thanksgiving dinner. I called Mom at Bea's and ask if I could bring them a plate and she was tickled. We took them some turkey dinner and went on over to the sawmill and Terry hooked up the Bobcat to the log splitter and we brought home another load of fire wood for the porch. That is really going to feel nice come January. I will be at Bea's starting tonight until Saturday morning so I spent the afternoon cleaning up the kitchen and getting things ready for me to leave these guys along for that long. We had leftovers for supper and I took a short cat nap on the couch during the news and that was my day. Lets hear how your day off went. Sis is spending the night a Jessica's tonight so that leaves Terry to take care of all the animal duties in the morning. He isn't too happy about that but it has to be done. I guess they will survive.

Took this picture out the bedroom window at Bea's house. I had to peck on the window to get her to look at me. This is just seconds before she bolts.

Don't ya just wanna blow a raspberry on that little tummy?

Sis took the pictures, I wasn't there. She waited too late in the day and the light was gone so it looks shook. The cabin is one room, it is on Jo Ann's property and is supposed to be Jessica's house, for her to decorate and live in. I kinda doubt that will happen though.

When the birds are learning to fly they always hit the window a few times before they figure it out. He hit it hard enough that he landed in the sink below but no lasting damage.

Can you see the pattern on my window? Don't look at the dirty window, just notice the design. That was not an eagle, just a cockatiel. He's okay though. I sold one today, for $50.00 and $10.00 for a cage. Still trying to sell two more.

Here is the finished cabin that Terry has been building for the last month. It is a 14'x14' with a 10' porch. He likes it and wants to build one for himself, a little bigger though.

I just discovered how the dogs were getting out! Notice the hole under the barrel? I wonder how long it took to dig that tunnel, how long to plan that escape? He was really proud of himself though, he took me back there and demonstrated how it was done.

We Have Puppies!

Last Friday night I could tell the Sofia was not feeling well so I thought she would probably have hers that night. I got up about 1 to check on her and it was Hildie that had 3 puppies! Hildie had one more and then Sofia started. I didn't get much sleep that night. Sis said she would watch a while so I went back to bed. I got up two hours later and Sis was back on the couch fast asleep. Hildie had two more and Sofia had one more but I wasn't there to help her and she lost that one. She gets busy with the others and forgets to take care of the new one if I am not there to assist. Sofia also had one that was not right, you could see its brain where the skull didn't go together at the top of the head. So Sofia had 5 but only has 3 now. The total was Hildie 6 and Sofia 3. Sofia's are all girls and their names are Harmony, Melody and Charity. Haven't named the others yet.
Since the last one met such an untimely death, here is the replacement. She calls her KK, I just call her 'Rat'. They sure are sweet, at least while they are still babies. I may change my mind when she gets older.

Ginger was successfully adopted out to an older couple with plenty of time for tummy rubs. I am sure our neighbors are glad to see her go. She would climb the 5 foot fence like a cat and we occasionally had to return the neighbors shoes. I had so many people wanting that dog when I advertised her for free, I bet I could have gotten money for her if I had tried. I am down to 7 little dogs and 1 big one now. I think I will go ahead and sell Maggie too, she will get a little bigger then I am looking for. She is a sweetheart and will make someone a very nice pet.

Remember I said I had room for one more little 4 -5 lb girl? Well here she is. Her name is Becka and she is 7 weeks old. Her mother was a yorkie-chihuahua, out of Blade and a neighbors Chihuahua. Her daddy is supposed to be my little brown chihuahua, Boogie. It seems that I aquired two though. After I agreed to take the little one, one of my buyers from the last litter e-mailed me and said that she had to change jobs and move to Dallas and couldn't take her dog. Would I take her back? Her name is Maggie and she is out of Blade and Sofia, my short haired one. She is six months old.

Here are the 'babies'. They are about 7 weeks ond now and I still have to feed 1-2 times a day. I ask somebody who raised cockatiels and they said their color is called Cinnamon Pearl. Don't know where that comes from. You ought to see this place when there are 6 birds flying around the room! They are even crashing into each other! It aggrivates Terry so we don't do that very often. I did have 4 birds sitting on me tonight after they were fed. I hope to be able to advertise these in the paper and sell them as soon as I get them weaned.

Sarah was at Sycamore Springs park the other evening, visiting with Mom. The new flowers around the entrance to the park were so pretty that we had to get some pictures. I just happened to have my camera. Sarah took the pictures, except for the ones she is in, of course.

We had a tragady here today, Sarah Beth had her pet rat in her plastic ball rolling around the house and the dog got in the house unnoticed. He has been dying to get ahold of the rat ever since we got it and he saw is his chance. While we were outside he managed to get the lid off the ball and we had to bury a dear friend.

We only had her for about 3 weeks and she was a sweet little thing. Her name was Luna. Her favorite place was inside your shirt next to your skin. That could get a little prickly at times too.

It was not a pretty picture around here when it happened and for a couple hours after so we will probably replace her in the near future.

Glad you enjoyed the walk. We'll do it again, when the leaves have turned. Don't forget to bring a nice warm jacket.

It's a beautiful morning! Come go for a walk with me. The dogs are eager and ready. Lets find out whats around the bend.
Sarah Beth and a friend made this fall decoration. Terry grew the pumpkin and squash.

I love the morning glory flowers. They remind me of walking out the long driveway to catch the school bus on cool fall mornings.
The little dog thinks he is big enough to whip the big dog and tries to let him know it all the time. Whiskers just thinks he's a misquito bugging him.
Lets stop and and smell the last of the honeysuckle flowers. I love that smell!

The thistle sure makes a pretty flower but oh..... beware of what is left when the flower fades.
Feel the breeze in your hair and the morning sun on your face? Well..... you will have to hold your nose until we get past this picture. The neighbor just came back from the turkey farm with a load of furtilizer.
We have to pull a few seed heads as we walk along, thats just goes with walking along a country road.

All the dogs look back at me and say, "Whats the hold up? Come on, lets run!"
Every body has to stop and smell every little hump in the road, I wonder what it tells them.
Is this pretty blue flower called Chickory? I know it is a pretty one.

This is what the neighbor has growing under their maple trees. Maybe that is what I need to do in my yard. I haven't had grass in my yard for years.
It is an ivy and it looks like it is doing great in their yard. At least I wouldn't have to mow it.
This is my favorite stretch of the walk. Especially when the fall colors are showing.
On the home stretch finally. Just around the bend is home and breakfast.

This is where I would like to end up but..... there's work to do. We'll have to save that for another day.
